Tuesday our cat-friend and host of our coffee-mornings, Pim from “de la Mar” contacted us, that he found a very young kitten in Estepona harbour.
The kitten was in extremely poor condition, so we had to urgently arrange a foster home and medical help.
Luckily Carol and Tony, who already saved a lot of street cats, were willing to collect him and try to rescue him.
When they arrived at “de la Mar” Pim found another abandoned kitten as well, so Carol and Tony took both of them to Veterinaria Puerto Alto for checkup and deworming.
Update 18 October: with a lot of care you get a lot of love in return!
Carol and Tony took them home, but they appeared to be very hissy, scratchy and frightened. The grey one, which they named Arthur was especially very dehydrated and starving. Later in the day they have eaten a little, but it must have been a long strange day for them.
The other, black one, has been named Bob is still very shy, but is a bit stronger and you can see him in the photo on top.
They had a lot of diesel from the harbour in their fur, so it was also necessary to clean them.
After a while it was possible to stroke Arthur. Carol and Tony are trying to socialize them by having them on their body in a kangaroo pouch some hours a day.
Our friends from Pointer Clinic Estepona contacted us that they had very nice scratch posts, food, toys etc. from a client who lost his cat and wanted to donate it to AGYA. So today we brought it to our little friends Arthur and Bob.
Now we are looking for the mother-cat. Pim has spotted her, but we need to catch her for checkup and sterilization. That’s one of the main tasks of AGYA to prevent the cat colonies from expanding and to keep them safe and healthy.
Obviously saving the cats, going to the vet, feeding them, cost a lot of money. You can help us!
Update October 23rd.
Because Carol & Tony had to return to the U.K. we had to find a new foster home.
Luckily Sadie and her family were willing and are now taken care of Arthur and Bob. These are the first pictures at their new foster home.

Today Arthur & Bob got their checkup at Puerto Alto Vets
Everything appeared to be fine and they got their second worming treatment. Obviously they were very happy when we brought them back to their foster home.

Rescued in Estepona Harbour, emergency fostering in Manilva, fostering in Casares Costa and now finally to their new home in La Linea!

Update 4th April 2021: sad news... we have to find a new home for Arthur & Bob
Kayleigh, who adopted these boys, has lost her job and home….
Although she love to keep them, it is not possible for her to keep them in a small shared apartment.
So these lovely two, playful, friendly cats are looking for a new home again.

Arthur and Bob are born mid Sepember 2020.
They are wormed, vaccinated and sterilized.
They deserve a cat-loving person / family before end of April 2021.
